Agora Energiewende

Think tank on German, European and international climate and energy policy

Agora Energiewende is a non-profit think tank that develops strategies to advance the goal of climate neutrality in Germany, Europe, and the rest of the world. It develops policy proposals, publishes reports on different elements of decarbonising the economy, and organises events to facilitate dialogue between different stakeholders. The team comes from over 20 different countries and a variety of disciplines – from engineers to economists and political scientists. Agora has forged a growing network of partner organisations that perform similar functions in their own countries.

At the start, Agora was mainly funded by the European Climate Foundation and Stiftung Mercator. In recent years it has received grants and donations also from the German and Austrian governments, the Aspen Global Change Institute (AGCI), Climate Imperative (CI) and others. Find more info here.
